Amazing MAPs-part1

A few typical moments in my daily life:

Moment #1: Visited Google Map, checked the route to a target place
Moment #2: Inside the subway train, viewed the subway map to see where to transfer
Moment #3: Calibrated with Canada Food Guide Map to plan my eating

Moment #4: Chose one of the navigation maps (in the software tool Articulate) for my e-learning design.
Moment #5: Designed a navigation map from SmartArt, and then combined with Articulate.
Moment #6: Brainstormed ideas by using concept map, smartArt, flow chart, and matrix (either in my paper-notebook or in Microsoft OneNote).

Moment#7: was amazed by the multiple functions of Google Map, and tried to abstract a map-navigation system that can be used to organize and present information (going beyond geographical maps).

Google map, smartArt and other navigation systems can be widely used in digital-world, traditional-physical-world, or blended-world. One map system that I want to create mostly is a ‘learning map system’. With such a map system, I can use it to calibrate any educational practice (formal or informal), software tool, educational policy, and a lot more. Map might be an amazing type of ‘Information-Unit’ to enhance people’s thinking, reasoning, communicating with each other, and solving problems. (with multiple sources of theoretical justification). I am exciting that how current and future software tools can support the creating, reviewing, and applying interactive, complicated map system.

I am going to write a series of articles to discuss the above ideas in more details, in the format of maps.
