In the “Drama” of learning, there are following players:
- The learners
- Those who communicate with the learners: teachers, peers, parents etc.
- The media: textbook, digital tools, and other traditional tools.
The above players communicate with each other, and multiple modes are the communication channels.
Relating #1
Better communication can help all the players become more familiar with each other (criss-cross), and then when facing a conflict situations, they can better solve the conflicts (cognitive conflicts). Better communication -- better getting familiar with better collaborating and solving conflict situations
Relating #2
Translating/transforming between multiple modes is one type of criss-crossing
Relating #3
Cognitive tools can assist the above processes.
